With its broad, tree-lined antebellum avenues and an abundance of quiet, scenic roadways through pastoral farmland, Covington is a popular destination for bicycle riders from across the southeast.
Covington Community Bike Ride
The Community Bike Ride is a monthly, no-drop, group bicycle ride and is the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon any time of year. Rides are led by Newton Trails volunteers who enjoy sharing their enthusiasm for biking and trails.
We start and finish each ride at the Square. The first loop is a gentle, family-friendly 4.5-mile roll around historic downtown Covington. Then, if you're up for a little more fun, take a ride with us out and back on the scenic Eastside Trail.
The outing is geared to riders of all abilities looking for a relaxing, conversational ride to close out the weekend.
Enjoy the ride and then linger on the Square to enjoy the rest of the day. Riders meet at 3:00 PM on the 1st Sunday of the month at the Covington Square.cyclists must wear a helmet and the ride is hosted by Newton Trails.
Members of the Covington-Conyers Cycling Club display a few of the many bicycles they will repair for Christmas gifts to disadvantaged children in the area.
